Corzine defends incompetence in the BPU

Newsday has this little story:

Gov. Jon S. Corzine wants New Jersey‘s chief utility regulator to keep her job, despite audits that have found mismanagement, poor record keeping and other problems at her agency.

The governor on Monday nominated Jeanne Fox to serve another six-year term as president of the Board of Public Utilities. Under her leadership, the board has been criticized on a range of issues, including improperly opening and managing an $83 million account for the state’s Clean Energy Program.

There we go, let’s just reward incompetence at the highest levels of government, afterall – it is only the taxpayers’ money.
