Republicans tell governor to leave the middle class alone

NJ.com reports on Corzine’s plan to eliminate the property tax rebate:

Republicans were quick to criticize the Democratic governor’s plans. Sen. Anthony Bucco (R-Morris) said Corzine should look elsewhere for budget savings, such as the so-called special municipal aid distributed to certain cities.

“For this governor, raising taxes and cutting programs to aid the middle class always seems preferable to reining in waste and exercising fiscal discipline,” Bucco said .
