Reactions to Corzine’s Address

From the AC Press today:

Sen. Jeff Van Drew, D-Cape May, Cumberland, Atlantic:

Said it was good that Corzine put the economy as the first, second and third most important things. “Not to be flip, but I think its also numbers four, five, six, seven, eight, nine and ten,” he said.

Senate Republican Leader Thomas Kean Jr. :”It’s true that New Jersey faces extraordinary times, but a lot of the work that Gov. Corzine has done has got us in to the difficult economic times before the recession started.”

Assemblyman Vince Polistina, R-Atlantic:

“I saw it as a nothing more than a campaign speech. I didn’t see any talk about middle class in New Jersey struggling to make sends meet.” He said talk of extending open space funding while the state faced a $2.1 billion deficit in the current budget was “bizarre.”
